Nemophilist - VCV Rack!

Usually a piece of gear may garner a social media post if it looks cool, but it's unusual to be so excited about an instrument that it warrants full on blog posting. Well, VCV Rack is just such an instrument! And I can't believe it's essentially free! There is a paid version, and some modules offer more features in their paid versions - but you can be up and running with a massive modular synthesizer rack for free! Since around March, I've been tinkering in with rigs, learning tons from various VCV Rack YouTubers (looking at you, Omri Cohen - thank you for all you do!) After a few months of learning and trying things out for myself, I've created my first modular, generative ambient piece!

Spend a melancholy hour deep in the Pacific Northwest rainforest as the rain drifts in and out, sunset clouds meandering overhead. The storm grows in intensity for a few moments then lazily continues on its journey eastward. As the last light fades, you can see a blanket of snow up ahead - it’s already covered the mountain peaks and inches toward you, stream by stream, tree by tree, rock by rock.
